Ada Joy

Sioux City Journal: Ada J. 'AJ' Barton
Ada J. "AJ" Barton, 52, of Sioux City died Friday, June 13, 2008, at a local hospital.Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Morningside Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

My (step) Aun Ada passed away this weekend after one of the hardest and bravest battles against Pancreatic/Liver cancer I've ever seen.
Ada has three children at home- Ronnie age 19, Tony age 18 and Renee age 16.
Ada lived life to it's fullest while she was here- she had run away from home at age 14, returned home at 16, became a truck driver, met her husband Ron on the road as a fluke, but the heart somehow knows when you're in the same room as your soul mate. Ron died almost 12 years ago from stomach cancer. Ada struggled and raised her children on her own. Recently, she met a VERY nice man, Rick- who visited her even in her sickest darkest moments this past month.
I had the honor of being able to visit her for almost 10 days just before her passing. She looked nothing like the woman I have known almost my entire life- but just a remnant of her layed in the bed- but the spirit she possessed, fighting until the very end to hang on to life- she had more living to do, more farm equipment to master, more loving to give to her family and friends.
Ada worked at Walgreens and was loved by everyone there. How many people do you know, have customers visit you FREQUENTLY while you are gravely ill?
She is deeply missed and heaven got one heck of a strong angel up there! Here's to you A.J!
