The Quality of Endurance by Mac Hammond

The quality of endurance is a vital key to success in leadership. Brilliance or talent alone can't guarantee victory. But developing the capacity to press on, even in adverse circumstances, will cause you to win in the end every time.

William Barclay once wrote,
"Endurance is not just the ability to bear hard times, but to turn it into glory."
Barclay's insightful statement merely echoes a truth we find in the Bible.
In Hebrews, chapter 10, verse 36 we read:

"For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God,
you may receive what was promised."
I needed this word today- this came in a scheduled email I get every day (among many) but these seem to be hitting home lately. I guess it's the activities of what is happening in the ministry here at work, as well as the other ones that I am involved in. Last night, we had a board meeting for our Health Clinic slated to open Nov 7th! Again, we rehashed a bunch of stuff I thought we had already worked through, but with the addition of new board members in the past 2 weeks, we have to address it from their point of view. Sometimes that gets very frustrating- although birthing this new clinic and the vision has been a labor of love. For anyone reading this, I ask and seek your prayers for the clinic as well as the new growth for the ministry. Today, I pray for endurance.
